We offer unique programmes of practical, entertaining talks by helicoptering in fantastic speakers with current, first-hand experience that is directly relevant to their topic. TalkInCompany is continually developing new and innovative sessions and we can tailor make our talks to suit your company’s particular needs.

This session looks at the way children read, write and communicate; how those who are reluctant can be encouraged and voracious readers nurtured, reading lists, suggestions for family book clubs, pen and paper games and all manner of practical tips.

With rising divorce rates, the structure of the family is changing with single-parent families, step parents, step children, half brothers and sisters being the norm in any 21st century family. This session will look at  how single fathers can make the most of the situation they are now faced with and how to make the most of the time they spend with their kids. With contribution and anecdotes from single dads covering a broad range of experiences, this is the ideal single father's session; funny, accessible and packed with essential information.

Single parents make up a large and growing group, often presenting problems though fabulously difficult to get to.  Kate and Emily, the very approachable, quirky and friendly experts on single parenting will address and help this very important topic.  Whether it's mum living with the kids or Dad living elsewhere, they will demystify and normalise this very common state with lots of positive tips, case studies and advice.

Social networking sites are developing rapidly. Our children are the first generation to have grown up taking the internet and mobile technologies for granted. They are the first to exploit the many positive opportunities, but also the first who have to negotiate appropriate behaviour as well as manage and identify the risks. The parents who are meant to be helping, educating and supervising them are often several steps behind and need a bit of help. This is the session for those who would like to know more about the pros, cons, pitfalls and opportunities.

 

Children grow up, children rebel and the danger they are exposed to is more often because they were inadequately prepared for real life than the extreme risks that parents worry about. This session will include lots of facts, tools and tips to help parents identify if they might have lost a grip of reality and fallen into the hole of insecurity drip fed by the media.  A realistic and useful look at the risks associated with child exploitation and how they can manage those risks.

 
 

This session will explain the theory, the motivation for helping children to attach securely and reveal attachment as a powerful and important tool to help parents invest in their children emotional needs.  Attendees will be given some ideas and strategies to maintain attached to offspring as they grow, even when they are rebelling and trying to break free as teenagers.

This session will cover persuasive writing and creating pithy prose.  Do you want to write an advert, a dating site entry, a letter or a speech?  Do you want to make sure emails you send say what you mean, don't offend or get confused? Or do you want to know what to put in a presentation and what to leave out? TalkInCompany will show you how to make 100 words do the job of 1000 in a clear no nonsense way.

Leadership really shows its metal when times are tough. When the future is uncertain it's easy to take short-cuts, become brittle and even panic. If that's a feeling that's consuming you or your organisation then a glimpse into an industry that perates successfully in a perpetual state of crisis might be reassuring.
